在加入布莱恩特项目之前,Corey Larsen博士曾在美国罗德岛州布莱恩特大学从事国际学生事务工作七年,他还曾在纽约市布朗克斯区的一所公立中学担任教师和项目协调员,拥有超过20年与国际学生及多语言学习者合作的经验,并多次主持有关国际教育、跨文化学习和学术成功的专题研讨会。
Dr. Corey T. Larsen is the Academic Dean of the Bryant University-BITZH, responsible for overseeing academic programs, faculty development, and student learning initiatives at Bryant University's international branch campus in China. He holds a Ph.D. in Literacy from St. John's University in New York, where his doctoral research explored the experiences of Chinese undergraduates using machine translation in English-medium instruction. He also holds master's degrees in TESOL (City College of New York, 2006), Instructional Technology (Utah State University, 2003), and Counseling Psychology (Salve Regina University, 2010), as well as a bachelor's degree in International Studies from Utah State University.
Dr. Larsen has been a key faculty member in the Bryant University-BITZH since its founding in 2015. Over the years, he has served in several leadership roles, including Clinical Associate Professor of English, Director of Teaching and Learning, and Director of the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE), which he established to support student achievement. In February 2022, he was appointed Chief Academic Officer and currently leads the program for Bryant University, ensuring academic quality and student success.
In addition to founding ACE, Dr. Larsen created the ZHELI (Zhuhai English Language Initiative) student orientation program and adapted Bryant's Design Thinking (IDEA) program to the Chinese context. He has led several faculty development workshops on culturally responsive pedagogy, active learning, and English-medium instruction. His current research focuses on translanguaging, educational equity, and professional development for EMI faculty.
Prior to his work in Zhuhai, Dr. Larsen worked for seven years at Bryant University's main campus in Rhode Island, where he supported international students. He also served as a teacher and program coordinator in a public middle school in the Bronx, New York, and has more than 20 years of experience working with international and multilingual learners. He has led several workshops on international education, intercultural learning, and academic success.
